@Jdcameron1983 I like the CS X. Really great spin on chips and pitches around the green. I have found so many Pro V1's and 1X's that are eminently playable though that I often use them when I am just playing by myself or in practice rounds. I find that with my Mack Daddy PM grind wedges (have 56, 60 & 64) that I can get a ton of bite, irrespective of which ball I am playing. Distance on full shots for me seems to depend more on how I am swinging than solely on the ball. If I'm swinging great, I get good distance and accuracy on any of them. Haven't played anything but CS, CS X or Pro V's for north of 3 years so don't know how the other brands are doing.
@RealOldLefty I too have found the TruVis harder to find than I thought they would be. They are just as easy to lose in the tall stuff or leaves as any other ball is. My girls like Volviks because they love the colors. Back in the summer, I hit a Volvic in bright orange and hooked it into some tall grass. We looked for 10 minutes and couldn't find that stupid brightly colored ball. A week later, she found it when we played that hole again.
As far as the TruVis go, I love them for chipping and putting practice. It is so easy to see how much spin you get.
@Stumpnav I agree about the chipping and putting. Unfortunately, can't change balls around the green. Great for practice, though. Personally, for chipping and putting I have a shag tube that holds 23 balls. After 4 or 5 rounds I take the balls out of play and use them for practice. I mark them with permanent marker. I use red and blue markers as I am a red, white and blue kind of guy. Course I like to play most is on the way home from work so when it's daylight savings I stop after work and chip/putt for 1/2 hr or hour. Great for short game. Oh, and using my shag tube and my balls is free. Course I am talking about has no problem with using your own balls around the chipping area or the putting green.
Titleist marketing must work with the Pro V1. I found 14 of them yesterday during my round. It’s the ball that people pay through the nose to lose. Only found 4 Chrome Soft balls. Maybe CS players are just better at not losing them. LOL
