I recently purchased a set of Rouge X irons however, the sand wedge is difficult to hit off of thin lies and is a little chunky to chip/pitch with. My previous set was the Apex irons so much thinner blades.
Does anyone one have a suggestion for a replacement sand wedge, with grind, for thin lies. I am an 11.2 handicap.
with the lowest bounce you can get
If you are artistic around the greens then "C" grind if you are straight way go up and chip nothing fancy then "S" grind
@JoeV I play in west Texas so I get a lot of thin/tight lies. I really like the MD Forged with the R grind. However, the new MD4 wedges look pretty cool.
While they would not work for my conditions, I am intrigued by the new X grind. @jimm9fa7 Have you seen the X grind or have an opinion on it yet?
X grinds are more heel and toe relief compared to the "C" grind made in a bit more bounce personally I like them. If possible look into the 60 deg
Thank you for all off the info. I like the look of the slate Mack Daddy forged wedges. Hit them this morning and think that is the way I'm going to go. Have a great day!!
@Stumpnav, Eventually I am going to order the 58* MD4 with the X grind to replace my Ping Gorge 58*.
