Having my 75 th birthday in August
; have been playing a few years with Ping G 20’s which are nice but I have decided to buy new irons. When I have taken the iron selection process Callaway offers, it is always Steelhead XR’s. What should I get next: the Rogue irons? Are going to a demo later this month at my club. Will tell you later how it worked.
@FredW4c14 depends on the iron profile you want to play but I'd wager without a doubt that the standard Rogue irons would do just fine for you. Just be cognizant of shaft selection and flex.
Dont be afraid to look at the Rogue X and the Quaranta shaft DEFINITELY a distance maker.
Keep in mind they are made longer than the standard rogue so choke down. If it works custom order the length.
I am 71 and play the regular Rogues in the Aldila Synergy 50 A (light) shaft and love them. Traded in my Callaway XR's, which performance wise was very similar to the Steelheads. Like @PC98 said, the right shaft is like having the right transmission in your car. I would think you would be very happy with a A flex shaft.
