Had a chance to hit the 7 iron yesterday. Stock shaft offering R flex. 1st impression was how light the club was. Really had to swing easy but boy did the ball jump off this club. I don't think it's for me yet, but I can see this in my future in about 10 more years. In the hands of a smooth tempo swinger this would be the ideal tool for the trade.
I still have not hit the regular Epic irons yet due to my 6 week hiatus doing shoulder rehabilitation. Now that I am back I need to find when the Callaway rep is going to be at my club and hit all three Epic irons, Epic, Epic Pro and Epic Star. Prices are going out of the roof but you know golfers. We will pay big bucks if we can gain more yards and tighter groups. At this price range I would probably wait 6 months and see what CPO has, that is if I liked one of the above three over my XR'S.
@ErikF-Erik, I have to go hit the Epi, Epic Pro, and Epic star to see if any of them can help my game. Problem is with retirement happening funds for these expensive clubs isn't happening. I think Callaway would sponsor a old fart to help improve his game enough to win the mens club tourney? LOL One has to dream, life is too short otherwise!
