I know that good course management is a huge factor in keeping your score low but if your drive is off to the right or left and you can't hit it over trees but you may be able to hit it through, what do you do?
You have 2 choices:
1: hit it safe back in the fairway but you sacrifice distance and you may be hitting it back away from the green
2: you see that space between the trees and the swashbuckler in your head says
I can probably take a half swing with a 4 iron and knock it through!
For those of you who pick choice 2 how many times out of 10 can you hit it through just like you planned?
Most of the time I play safe but if I am playing so-so I'll choose the 2nd way and I take care of the shot about 3 out of 10 times but what the hell, gotta have some fun right?😜
Im done with the hero shot. Ive failed more than ive succeeded. If you are playing for a score put it back in play and take your medicine. If you are goofin off with your buddies go for it , haha. Im too competitive to risk a huge number with the hero shot. If you are in trouble....get out of trouble. Best advice ive ever gotten.
Depends on how my round is going. But more times than not, I am going to pitch it out and play for par or bogey at the worst.
If my round is going horribly, I might as well compound the problem and try and hit it through a tiny window in the trees..... because you know, if I already put myself in that kind of bad situation in the trees....then of course I can pull off hitting it through that tiny window!!!!!! Lol.
