I’m all for this. It should be implemented immediately on all tours. From what I’ve read it has shaved a minimum of 30 and as much as 45 minutes from rounds. The quality of the golf doesn’t seem to have suffered. The “While were young” campaign didn’t catch on so let this speed them up.
Takes an average of 45min of the players round. What a difference it makes. Forces them to have a regular setup routine when over the ball as opposed pre workout before addressing the shot.
I like it up until a point without rushing the shot
I love this format. The announcers said this morning it was the best scoring since this tournament started. Maybe more of the stars of the tour will participate in the years to come.
I like it, both for playing and watching.
I like the idea of blurring the billboard clothes if they go over time
And Jeremy is right, the caddie has already done all the thinking, the player should be ready to hit.
They just said the results are in, the game is faster and the scores are better..........
as with all experiments there is something to skew the data
in this case I'd bet none of the players that tend to take too long are taking part in the tournament
Sounds like the shot clock was a success. Hopefully it makes its way onto the other tours.
Since we are talking about slow play, it has always bugged me to see players plumb bobing all over the green and then never making the putt. The other thing is when the group ahead is way out of range of the longest club in your bag and the player in your group who is the furthest back is still waiting for the group ahead to get even further away or off of the green what ever the case. "Let's go while we are still young."
