@GeneMf961That would be a great idea! I’ll get in touch with their sales Dept and see what can be done if a few of us bought a system. Not sure if they would do something on top of a special/holiday discount but we will see.
My biggest thing is getting a solid warranty.
@ErikF I've decided I'm going with a SkyTrak. I just finished re-engineering my roof in the open attic space I have and now have all kinds of room to swing a club. I just setup my net today and am now just waiting on my Country Club Elite real feel mat to arrive in the next couple of days. Already hit some balls in to the net and it's going to be awesome. Decided to go with a SkyTrak which will output to an iPad but I'll then output that via HDMI to a 32" TV I have that I'm not currently using. The attic space as of now is unfinished but the floor for that area is all covered in plywood and I have some remenant carpet over that. For now I'll take the 32" TV and just mount it on one of the exposed studs. Since I'm in Indiana and it gets downright cold here in the winter I'm not too sure how much I'll be able to use the space this winter but I've got a radiant space heater and I might surround that entire area with plastic and just attempt to vaguely heat that space. We'll see how that all shakes out but if I've got to get bundled up in a snowsuit to go hit some balls in the attic then so be it. I'd love to go ahead and just buy the SkyTrak now but I'll be mad if they do a big sale right after! If it's anything like last year they will have a nice discount through the holidays so I hope they do it again. Can't wait to get it all setup. It won't be super pretty since it's just an unfinished attic but hey it's a simulator in my house which is awesome because we don't have year round golf here.
@PC98@Check out this Twitter page from SkyTrak. The have a $300 off code. Glad to hear you are getting one. This discount sure helps but I’m going to wait for another month and see if there is a holiday/Black Friday/ Christmas discount that will be available.
@GeneMf961 it's still new to me at this point but I can't see any negatives it would have. Honestly just a mat and net would suffice if you just wanted to keep hitting balls, SkyTrak just adds ball fight for you which is huge but not necessary. However I think I'll get the most out of it with short game yardage and figuring out 20-80 yard shots and take some of the guessing out of real life on the course.
I called SkyTrak to see if they had discounts yet. They don’t now but they have some refurbished models for $1495. $500 less than a new month and it has a 90 day warranty. It does not have the option for an extended warranty. It has a hard shell though. New ones have a 6 month warranty and you can extend it for $99. Someone in my area is selling a used one for $1600. No warranty though. I’m waiting until December to see if a new one is discounted.
@PC98: I hope you are able to have fun despite the initial frustration you seem to be having.
