Just wondering what golf apps people enjoy on there phone. And what about the app you find most usefull. Currently I find myself using the 18 birdies app. Yes its free which is a bonus but they do also have some functionality that requires payment. Yes it does have the ability to choose courses and use of a GPS with satellite imagery. But what i find particularly usefull is the shot tracking metric. The ability to keep track of fairways hit, misses left or right. greens in regulation, and puts is nice. They also have a statistics thing that allows you to review your round to see just where your strokes add up and where you can improve. Curious what other apps people play with or if people enjoy using paper and pencil more.
@Travis75 Cool man , Im gonna try it ! I have my little golf buddy for yardages and simple distance of shot feedback but I would love to keep track of the round like that. Never really thought about something like this before. Thanks...
I have tried most of them on the Apple App Store and deleted most of them. The one I keep and use most often is SwingXSwing. Very good GPS and shot tracking. Round review and metrics are great also. App is free but for a small fee you can purchase the Looper upgrade to get more detailed hole info and other features.
I'm going to give 18 Birdies a try if these annoying thunderstorms every day ever stop.
I like it having all the clubs available with distances.
Appears to have all the Callaway clubs in there to pick from too.
I tried to use 18 Birdies playing with my daughter yesterday. Lots of great features and looks very cool. I ended up not using it after the 2nd hole. I just wanted to play golf not keep swiping my phone to enter stats and scores. I prefer my GPS watch and laser. Paper is faster to write stats down and then transfer it later.
Maybe I need to adjust it and get a mount for my push cart to make it quicker and easier. I love tech and that's what I do but this seemed to slow me down. And maybe I need more than 10 minutes with it to learn to use it better?
I use 18 Birdies s lot. Very accurate GPS. Keeps track of your scorecards. I don't use all the features though.
I use the Golf Now ap and it's free also. I have yet to find a course that's not loaded. Great flyovers and dead on GPS ranges that are usually confirmed with my laser.
I used 18 birdies last year and enjoyed it a lot. Plan on using it again this year but was looking at and trying to see if anything better or new is out there. 18 Birdies is nice because it does keep track of your rounds and all the courses I played last year it had. Also cool little game feature where you get coins and can try and win some free gear.
