This weekend headed out on a course with blind landing areas and thick (3-4' high) rough where if you are off the fairway you are going to have to drop. Even with all of that still tied my best score (93, yeah still working on getting that down). It is so awesome when you stay on the fairway and make solid swings. Now just need some distance.
What is your favorite feeling after or during a round of golf?
Congrats! It feels good when you play well on any course…but definitely one that is difficult. Good Job! Stick with it you'll get your score lower!
My home course is one of the best in my state. It is also one of the toughest. The mens regular tees play 71.6/136 at 6464 and the senior tees play 69.5/132 at 6000 yds. Anytime I shoot a round below 85 I feel great and on a rare occasion I break 80 I am euphoric but just for the rest of the day. I know when I wake up the next day it is a brand new world what happened in the past, is well, the past.
@KevinGamache Congrats bud , thats a great score on an familiar track , any track really. Regardless of score , my favorite feeling playing golf is when I hit my clubs well and my ideas come to fruition. I like it when my plan for a hole happens , haha. Hit Em Good Peeps !!
@KevinGamache Tough course. Good score. That's always a real treat. Congrats. Keep working and you will get down under 90. Then 80. Remember. At the level you are now playing, the best and quickest way to cut strokes is to work on chipping and putting. I'm a big Phil fan for short game. You should take a look at his 2 DVD training set 'Secrets of the short game.' Great instruction and not hard to work his 'hinge & hold' into your chipping/pitching.
