I can't hit a green......3 today
Only slightly better at hitting fairways....5
wedge and putter saving the day.....28 putts, 7 of 12 up and down for par
hole 16 got me again, double with a 3 putt
I broke the hole 17 curse, used 3h, gave it all I had, ended up 25y past the hole, down slope ball below my feet hitting toward the water........landed short of green, barely got on, 2 putt bogey
They got the rough rough, miss the fairway and you have to dig it out, makes it hard to hit greens
I'm done with midnights and have the next week off, maybe I can get some fairways and greens
I'm in a scoring slump. The last 5 rounds 86,87,87,86,87. Today i finally hit the best drive of the day on 18 a par 5. Got in a green side bunker with my 2'nd shot using my Epic 3 W. 54 MD3 out and two putt for par. Going to the range tomorrow and see if I can duplicate that last drive with some consistency .
@CarlT9704Scores below 90 are nothing to sneeze at, you can't get more consistent than that, are you sure driving is what you need to practice.
Had to go Lex yesterday, ate too much, drove home, then headed for the course to get in 9
Started with a double, then got a good drive, nice 3h shot to about 45y, then PW pitch to 2ft from the hole and a birdie........
then bogey bogey bogey bogey bogey, 8 hit in the woods and had to rest in the shade for a little.....bogey
9 good drive(this is where I use to, under perfect conditions, get 300y drives) 265, 225 to go perfect lie, 4w putted it about 75y in the rough, 6i dig it out almost made it to the green, pitch and a putt for par
I had a great day, driver was really good
bogey par par bogey bogey 4par
1 was a 3 putt, 4 bad second shot along with 2 pitches to get on, 5 bad second shot and short pitch.......I say bad but they really weren't that bad of a miss just bad places to miss
par birdie par birdie bogey bogey bogey par par
11 hardest hole on the course...birdie
14 great drive, 4w to 45y, PW pushed bounced over mound and down hill........after getting my bogey I went back and pitched again this time open stance, landed ball exactly where I wanted and had an easy put for birdie......if only
15 easiest hole on course, pushed 3h(counted as a fairway), pulled 7i, pitched short 2 putt
16 pushed drive, bad spot, perfect 7i to miss green left, pitch short 2 putt.
4 of 5 up and down for par
Hope I can keep them drives going
Forgot to take my pain meds......front 40 back 44
Friend caught me on 13 wanted me to ride with him, no problem I'll pull my cart behind.
Going to 15 tee he passed my tee, stopped and started backing up, broke wheel right off
The heat was hot, I was really getting drained, 16 double, 17 bogey, 18 double
oh and I moved back to the yellow tees
yellow 72/136........they call them gold but they're yellow
Some holes thats a huge difference, both back par 3's over 180 front 3's 150-175
some of the par 4's are ridiculus and some 1 club difference from blue
par 5's are still doable, the tee shot looks like a mile to the fw.
Lost score card since getting home, greens were less, fw were less but yesterday was undoable standard
doubles #1, 11, 16,18
42/40 2 strokes better playing the yellow.
Rain started on hole 13, put on my rain glove and kept going, it quit for my second on 16, I was soaked.
played 16-18 3 strokes better than yesterday, 1 stroke worse holes 1-15
another 82, but this time it was 41/41, I had to add it couple of times cause I didn't believe it.......I felt like I was playing much worse
I quit hitting driver after 14 tee.....I had a few decent drives but really nothing better than a good 3w.
8 I missed a 3ft putt
Missed several 10+ft putts by an inch short....went in clubhouse after 9, they asked how the greens were, I said it rained last night so they're wet and a little slow but not bad.......they said using different mower should leave the greens slower.......my excuse for short putts
Yesterday I played incredibly well for so early in the season, front 35, back 38, 73, 1 over par at Salem CC gold tees. Considering I’ve only played the course a few times with a friend I was thrilled. But my putter was on fire, I sank 4 par putts over 5 feet and 2 birdie putts over 15 feet. My mid irons wound up being my weak link, missing the green twice from around 175yards with my 7iron and at 190 yards with my 6. Luckily my Mack daddy r grind wedges saved me from a trap and a tricky downhill over bunker lob, along with my putter. Driver did its job well, but Salem is more of a 3 wood off the tee course until the final few holes and two of the par 5s. Which comes to the 3 wood who needs some work, missed only one of those fairways with the driver but 50% with the 3 wood. Great round non the less but always room for improvement. I forgot how tough two of the par threes are there from the back tees and the final few holes are no joke either. Great course if you ever get a chance to play it.
