Full swing is coming around....6 gir, not great but certainly not bad
wedge play still sucks.......2 of 9 up and down for par, and not 1 failure was the putters fault
40/42, yesterday morniing finished midnight shift, went to bed last night at 8:30, up at 3:30, couldn't eat anything from 8pm, give up some blood at 8am, head for course. Starting this late and I'm the first out. Next the pro and his wife, I let them thru on 4, the last time I saw them was when they were leaving 6........its so much better when the people you let play thru keep going at the same pace they were going when they caught you, but most of the time as soon as you let them thru they become the slowest players on the planet.
Started par par, then double on par 3, hook off the tee, found it sitting way down in crap with green way above my head I gave it a mighty whack with the 60 and made it almost half way to the green, pitch it again with the lie much better and swinging easier I just barely made it on the green, then 2 putt.
Putter working good, full swing mostly good, wedges suck and this started after last time I practiced.
Got in a round today at Saddle Creek Golf Course in Lewisburg, TN. Shot an 82 (41/41) with a chip in birdie on #10. Driver started out shaky but came around after a few holes. Greens were in bad shape in spots but they tried to put the pins away from those areas.
@ChuckH Played both days this weekend. Yesterday was mediocre at best. 3 putt for double on easy par 5 1st hole for an ominous start. 18 putts on front pretty much sums up the day. 33 total putts. Only bright spot was 12 fairways hit. Ball striking through the green not awful, but not great. Short game was spotty, some good chips on the back nine but was leaving everything short on front. 84 total score.
Played home course today after church. Was supposed to be some rain mid-afternoon so course not busy when I teed off at 12:30. Played by myself. Very enjoyable. Only hit 9 fairways, but only had to create a shot on one hole. Only 7 GIR's today, but much better feel with chipping. Also first round in awhile that the hole got in the way of my ball on the green. 27 putts. Didn't take advantage of couple of really good looks at bird. No birds today or yesterday. Ended up with 75 (5.3 differential) from Blue tees today for pretty satisfying round. The rain ended up just a few drops and the clouds provided a little relief from the 99* heat.
I shot an 80 today at Seven Hills Golf Course in Hartville, OH (bump anywhere, no gimmees). Played the tips, 7026 yards. It is a monster course, but probably my favorite in Northeast, OH (the ones I have played anyway). I figured I had to birdie the last 2 holes for a 79, but forgot I birdied 10...so missing 15 footer on 18 cost. Still getting used to my new irons and wedges, and I am just starting to hit my driver a bit more consistent again. I was pretty happy with the round in general, especially starting double bogey, bogey.
Played crown hill twice in threeeeeee days
first round 82 39/43, putting well
second round 86 42/ 44 3 putted three greens two on par three holes arg!
both in jungle like temps
Not bad for a Monday, started out not so good, 41/39
It took till 11 to figure out how to hit the ball in the right direction.
12 par 5, 10y past in deep rough in 2, first pitch almost made to green, second was terrible and 2 putted for bogey......so since no one was following I worked on pitching, got it worked out tried it again from10y past green and threw it up close
13 I pitched in for birdie
Full swing coulda been better
pitching coulda been a lot better
putter still good
Got in a round after work with my daughter. I shot an 86 (42/44) and she shot an 83 (42/42). The course had a tournament yesterday so they had the greens so fast they were no fun to putt on. I did make a few long putts but it felt more like luck when they dropped.
Same score as yesterday.
Tried doing what worked yesterday and just couldn't get it to work.
Went back to what wasn't working yesterday and its working today
On the bright side, no 3 putts
When you play the white tees you expect better scores......finally
4 of 5 up and downs for par
1 birdie and 1-3 putt
and 4 fairways
And what could have been
Holes 1,3, 14,15,16 shoulda been birdies, just 1/2 an umph more and they were in
Hole 11, first putt was long, I hit it exactly how I wanted, came up 8ft short and made the putt, went back and gave it a mighty whack, closest I could get was 5 ft ?????????
Go on to hole 12 and blast the ball past and end up 3 putting
Hole 14, (par 5) bad tee shot, pitch out of woods and advance to about 230, pull out the 3w hit a fade lands short and rolls by the hole stops close enough it should be a birdie.....2 putt
I figured out why I'm leaving putts short over and over
I was doing this earlier, they were slowly slowing down the greens to have slow enough for Jr PGA tournament.........they're have another Jr PGA tournament tomorrow
Friday or Monday I'll be blasting by the hole because they'll cut them normal again.
