I have started posting pictures of the #13 hole markers on the golf courses I play. It all has to do with honoring and remembering our youngest son, Noah, who passed away on May 13, 2015. Here’s the story behind #13.
• Noah was 13 years old when he passed in May of 2015.
• Noah passed away on the 13th of May, 2015.
• Noah’s birth dad has a #13 tattooed on his arm (from several years prior to Noah’s passing).
• Noah is buried in plot #13 at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery in Delta, AL.
I don’t believe in numerology but I have noticed more of late how many times the #13 pops up in our lives. What used to be considered an “unlucky” number has now gained new meaning with our family. Now when we see #13, it makes us smile and think of our buddy Noah.
So that’s all it is. Just my little way of keeping his memory alive for another day. Hopefully, the next time you see #13 you’ll think of him too. Now, when I step up to #13, I pause, say a quick prayer of thankfulness for Noah, get focused and let ‘er rip! I take a picture of the hole marker and post it with #13forNoah.
I challenge all my golfing buddies to take pictures of their #13 when they play and post them to your various social media platforms, using #13forNoah, along with adding it to this discussion. Can a dad get some love and honor for his son? Thanks in advance.
