What’s the inspiration when naming a new product line like the Rogue one.
Are rhe names decided before hand, does everybody write down 10 prototype names or is it left up to one person?
It’s so much better than just naming the line 1,2,3,4 (if you catch my twisted drift).
Naming is really hard! Coming up with a name that encapsulates the story of essence of the product is hard on its own. But then once you find a name you like it has to go through the legal process. Usually if you have 20 names you like, they are already registered by a different company and we have to start the process all over again.
As for specifics, sometimes the name comes from Chip, sometimes they are inspired by the product's code name, and other times it's a brainstrom internally to come up with a name.
@NaydelmanCG I can only imagine how many times you say a name and it’s taken, say something else and it’s taken etc.
Very interesting and the difficulty of naming a line is (probably) one area that gets overlooked by the general public.
But they are always quick to criticize. Ha.
Thanks for the information.
That's quite interesting, I would love to sit in on some of those meetings !
@NaydelmanCG I see a community brainstorming session developing. Just imagine a club line that was named by the community. A club for the people, named by the people.
