Recently I tested the new Rogue 3 Wood. Callaway sent me the club to test for the purposes of writing a review for the Callaway Community.
Rogue 3 Wood
driving range off mats, as well as on course from ground and off tee
Driver Swing Speed:
110 MPH +
3 Wood (15° Loft)
Club Characteristics (1=Very poor, 10=Outstanding)
The setup looked slightly loftier than 15*, the feel away from the center of the club face wasn't that great pretty clunky, and silent. When hitting in the center dead center it sounded a little louder and felt less clunky and not as spinney. I felt the shaft was a bit weak and spinney so it would carry 250 and get no roll.
Performance OFF THE TEE (1=Very poor, 10=Outstanding)
|DISTANCE vs. current FW||5/10|
|FORGIVENESS vs. current FW||3/10|
|CONTROL vs. current FW||8/10|
|LAUNCH CHARACTERISTICS vs. current FW||6/10|
Launch was a bit high and felt as though it was rather spinny, distance was not that great, the forgiveness wasn't great at all unless struck perfectly it would spin a bunch and go no where but upon center contact it felt a little less clunky, spray pattern was very small.
Performance OFF THE DECK (1=Very poor, 10=Outstanding)
|DISTANCE vs. current FW||6/10|
|FORGIVENESS vs. current FW||7/10|
|CONTROL vs. current FW||7/10|
|LAUNCH CHARACTERISTICS vs. current FW||7/10|
The performance from the grass and seemed to benefit from almost hitting down on the ball, from a perfect lie it did well but from a thin lie seemed spinny, but easy to control.
looks, spray pattern small, easy to work left and right.
spinny, difficult to hit, not that forgiving, not that great of sound on impact, off center hits went no where
Summary of My Experience with the Club
prefer my old 3 wood, and nearly all other three woods on the market.
