Hey guys, currently I’m playing Wilson FG62 blades with DG S300 shafts. Thinking about switching to the XR Pro irons. I’m a good ball striker...not great. Looking for a little extra distance and forgiveness. Anybody go from blades to XR Pros??? Any info would be helpful! Thanks!
the lofts will certainly be stronger than the blades and will result in more distance,.
The cavity back will certainly be more forgiving than the blade design. the ball flight will also be higher.
The standard shaft may be lighter for better control if a smoother swinger.
The feel/ sound will not be the same. The forged feel will not be present as it is not forged. This is another thread discussion for sure. but when struck well the it is a good feel. The sound it not of the traditional one piece forged club.
However, if leaving the blades family you cant ask for a better players iron.
As another option, Callaway just released the X forged MB and CB. You could easily get better performance with the X forged CB after jacking the loft just a touch and get the players cavity design and the standard top line blade players enjoy.
