So I went for a complete iron fitting yesterday. Quite an experience. Started with my CF16’s for a baseline. Tried all the other Callaway heads with a multitude of shafts. Had my normal flight a slight pull draw consistently thru the fitting. We first found the shaft the flighted the way I like and got to one that produced more distance and more spin. The to my surprise we went to +1/2” which no one has done for me befor and the dispersion greatly improved ed and the flight straightened out greatly. I went in open minded and was pleased with the results. 1-1/2 hours was more than enough time to get it right. KBS Tour 90 +1/2” is the winner for my swing. I’d advise anyone to go thru the process. It’s worth the investment in your game.
@Stumpnav Yes about 11 yards of carry with the 6 iron better the anything I had hit prior. Also hit every head possible and the CF16 was built with me in mind. Thanks Doc Hock. I just hope the next version does me better.
@BradCe594 Had the KBS FLT 120 put in my CF16’s just a bit to heavy for this old man. As we age not so graciously, it’s tough to get the ego out of the way. I have decided to listen and do what’s best for my game. King, not hardly. Maybe a joker! I don’t even belong in the deck. What’s your twitter handle, and how did you come to that conclusion?
I was fitted for my irons 2 years ago and my surprise was that I needed a 3 degree upright and a A or senior flex shaft for my old age swing speed. I had been playing a stiff shaft and 2 degree upright for the past 25 years. As my fitter said, "statistics don't lie." I picked up a club difference with the same ball dispersion with the change.
