Went to Golf Galaxy today and bought a 10.5 Rogue with the Aldila Synergy 50 Stiff shaft. I am seeking some advice here as I was between this shaft and the Project X Even Flow 60, stiff.
I was on the Callaway website and it seems that the Alidila Synergy 50 stiff is actually 60g in weight, and the Project X Even Flow 60 stiff is 67g, is this accurate. I feel like 50g is too light, but if it is 60g then that seems about right.
My swing speed is ~97-8 mph, when I get to the high end I'm in the 103 range. I'm a higher end handicapper. I haven't taken the wrapping off the club as I wanted to see what you guys may think would be the best way for me to go, given my club head speed and handicap.
Many thanks for your help in advance!
Your shaft is 60 grams according to the Adilia web site. Rule of thumb for the right golf shaft is the lightest one you can control. I think you made the right choice IMHO.
There are so many variables in fitting your shaft... I would recomend going and getting an actually shaft fitting to find the best preformance you can. There are way to many schools of thought on what you should look for when getting a shaft and so much inconsistancy from one company to the next so I would say go somewhere you can hit as many shafts as possible and pick one that way. I use to go look at specs and pick my shaft that way and then was sent a shaft by Callaway to Product Test that fit me abosolutly perfect and instantly it turn my least consistant club into a weapon and lowere my handicap within a couple of weeks. Best thing I can say is hit as many as possible and you will know right away if you have found one that fits you.
@Golffan55 swingspeed and handicap have absolutely nothing to do with the weight of any given shaft. Swing what feels best to you. I prefer lighter shafts. Other guys prefer heavy shafts. That's why there are options.
