I am looking to buy a new 3-wood, and looking for opinions. Currently my swing speed with a driver is 110 and my handicap is 9. I would like everyones opinon on shaft and either the epic or sub zero.
any help would be great, since i dont live near a fitting center.
I'm a 18 handicap and I got the Callaway XR 16 3 wood and I love it. Very easy to hit and forgiving.
I like the looks of the Callaway XR 16 Pro version even more. It has a lower profile and just has a confident look that it will get the ball airborne easily. I would have gotten this, but I figured I needed the extra forgiveness with the regular version.
Hope this helps.
@jackson2485 my opinion would be the epic sub-zero. With your swing speed you can adjust those weights on the bottom to the trajectory/spin you'd like best. For me, I have a higher swing speed as well and 6 handicap and I use it with the 22g weight forward for a lower spinning, piercing trajectory. I love it off the tee on tighter fairways, and can still hit it good off the deck. Good luck with your choice. But with epic I'm sure you won't go wrong.
I too have the XR16 3 wood with the red 565 Speeder stiff shaft. Love it. When you decide to buy, go to Callaway Pre Owned.com Save alot of money. Thats what most all of us here in the community use.
