I have the MD3 black wedge at 60 degrees that I have had for a while now. I'm giving it to my grandson. What is the big difference performance wise for those in the community that are using the new MD4 wedges?
I only need one more club to be all Callaway and that is to replace my 58* Ping Gorge wedge. It's still in good shape and I hit a Phil Mickelson flop shot today with it that impressed my 3 playing partners . When I do replace it it will be the MD4 58* X grind.
@PC98 Really? I think the MD4 is a massive improvement on looks to the MD3. The MD3 was a little too rounded in the toe for my liking. The MD4 looks great at address.
There are also new grind options available on the MD4
@Caseyj15 The MD4 was a total rework from the MD3 which was a rework of the MD2. Apparently the tour folks like the shape and flight of the MD2 and the grooving of the MD3 however Mr Cleveland spent significant time on the tour to get what the pros really wanted and bascially came up with the MD4 which in my opinion is the MD2 shape the MD3 costemics and new grooving along with a new sole grind the X tour which is very versitile to be sure
For me it's the distance control, I seem to be more consistent with my yardage then the md3. They do spin more then the md3 according to my lm and the new grinds are nice for people who play alot of different shots.
