So I went to get fit for some new irons and tested out the new Apex MB's, X Forged, and Rogue Pro Irons. I hit all three with the Project X 6.0 Shafts. All data was captured using a Foresight GC2 Launch Monitor and all golf balls were Chrome Soft X. The X Forged and Apex MB irons were bent to play at 33 degrees of loft and the Rogue Pro irons were at stock specifications. I really thought that the X Forged irons would be a nice middle ground between workability, control, and forgiveness but I hit those the worst out of all three. What do you guys think?

@trey25 actually your numbers are very consistent in each set. Your carry is lining up with ball speed so each is performing well. If you're not concerned about max yardage then frankly pick the set you like looking at the most. I just picked up some Rogue Pros and so far on my SIM I'm enjoying them... but I'll tell you they are simply a placeholder until the new Apex CF irons arrive.
@trey25 My observations based your numbers:
1. The shot dispersion of the X Forged actually is the tightest among the 3 clubs if you take out the 1st shot from the X Forged which is a bit thin.
2. You swung the X Forged consistently faster / harder for whatever reason. May be you wanted it to match the distance of the MB or the Rogue Pro?
3. You launched the ball almost 1.5 deg higher with the X Forged than with the MB. It may be due to the lower CG. The higher launch / dynamic loft led to higher back spin kind of explain the shorter carry. I also wonder if the lofts of these clubs are really identical at 33 deg.
It's funny that you think you hit the X Forge the worst. I actually think that is your most consistent group of shots. I don't think you should judge the performance based on distance alone. Look, feel, sound, consistency, etc. are equally if not more important.
My 2 cents.
Numbers look pretty optimal with the MBs and the rogue pro’s. It comes down to what you want to look at. I chose the MB’s and haven’t looked back. Feel and performance are 2nd to none in my book. Might try a mixed set with the 3-5 in the pro’s and 6-pw in the MB’s.
Good luck and let us know what you decide.
