So I had a little time to kill before the big turkey dinner at the outlaws so I thought I would drop by golftown and pick up some chrome soft golf balls that are on sale. An old employee I have known for years was on the putting green hitting some odessey putters, he had a couple toulon putters on the rack. Alex was bored and we decide to see if the toulon design putters could knock my ody works 7 out of the bag..The indy putter caught my eye the most so it was time to choose the release type. I always thought I was straight back and threw putter but nope I have a slight release in my putting stroke. The first thing I noticed was the putting stroke felt smooth and natural with the moderate release model, I could actually feel the difference between the models.
The feel off the face was like butter and the roll was smooth easy to lag ( the putting green is 25 feet long). I hate to say it but it felt better then the micro hinge insert in my number 7. The sound was what you expect from a non insert face , it sounds almost hollow but not loud . The look is one of those " you are going to love it or hate it things" there is alot going on behind the face but it seems hidden being all black. The face is stable on off center hits due to all moi behind the ball. The price is on the high side but then again up here its cheaper then my driver which I use maybe 6 to 7 times a round and I use my putter on every hole sometimes more then I want .If you haven't had a chance to roll a Toulon design putter do your self a favour and try one you are going to be surprised by how much tech is in these little beauties. Yes I did buy it and if it wasn't for the fitting I may have not or atleast bought the wrong model for my putting stroke.
